Thanks, Herb
(Brokering)
Liturgical Use: None
Text: Thomas Fischer
Tune: "The Church's One Foundation"
("Aurelia")
Suggested Usage: Commemorate Herb Brokering
“Thanks,
Herb”
Or “What happens when wind whirls around
loud boiling test tubes???”)
Herb Brokering’s creative
He wants us all to see
The grandeur of creation—
God’s awe-some majesty
With childlike eyes he visions
The simple childlike way
By sharing things so simple
Shows us God’s grace today.
Some call him
Pastor Brok’ring
Some call him “Uncle Herb”
But talk to him, he’ll tell you
It’s just his Lord he serves.
Herb, thanks for your perspective
We thank you for the joy.
Now we in childlike wonder
Worship the Little Boy.
Thanks, Herb,
for jubilation,
Thanks, Herb, for ‘piphanies.
Thanks, Herb, for exultation,
Thanks, Herb, for joy and glee.
May rocks, lakes, wind and test tubes
And all that God has made
Bring wonder, fascination
For God’s great love and grace.
Praise God, to
Him be glory,
Praise Christ, His glorious Son,
Praise Father, Son and Spirit
The Awe-inspiring One.
Let winds blow in and through us,
May breezes come and go…
And may God ever find us
In grace’ embracing flow.
